JEWISH BERLIN - WALKING TOUR

Through the old jewish quarter, 2 hrs.

Before World War II the Spandauer Vorstadt,
part of it known as the Scheunenviertel, was a
quarter with a high share of jewish population

The consequences of the Nazi-rule are still present,
but today you will find here again a growing jewish
community with a vital cultural life.

Our guides will show the Spandauer Vorstadt especially
under the aspect of jewish life in past and present.

You will see the following sites:

Rosenstr. (location of the first synagoge in Berlin),
Hackescher Markt, Hackesche Höfe,
Sophienstr., Große Hamburger Str. (Toleranzstr.),
Jewish Boys School, oldest jewish cemetary
with the tomb of Moses Mendelsohn,
Oranienburger Str., New Synagoge, Tacheles.
